Ephesians 4:11
So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,

2 Timothy 4:5
As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

I graduated from Washington high school in 1978 and shortly after that started with NCDOT and retired in 2007. Worked for the City of Washington as Cemetery and Build Superintendent, retiring in 2017. I served in the NC National Guard for 9 years. Between those years in 1981, I married my wife the former Lulu Arnold. We have two wonderful grown children that are married and have children of their own. We have 5 grandchildren ranging from age 5 months to 20 years old. I was a late bloomer when it came to preaching. I was a deacon for many years at Rosemary Church of Christ and taught many different age groups including junior church. I was often challenged to do more in the ministry but didn’t realize I would be where I am today.

In 2015 I was challenged to do more when asked to fill in for different congregations while they filled the full time preacher positioned. In January 2016 I was asked to fill in at Mary’s Chapel Christian Church until they hired a full time preacher. 18 months later while still preaching there, the LORD opened a door that once again challenged me to do more. Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ looking a fill in minister asked if I could help?

August 2017, Marty Alligood a spiritual mentor for me ordained me to serve the LORD as a full- time minister. I started at Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ in August 2017 and with the backing and support of the eldership and church family, Lulu and myself have enjoyed serving Christ.

I entered the ministry differently than most today, however I believe the LORD has allowed my life to go in the direction it did to be used now for the full time purpose to serve Him and evangelize to other about Jesus. Many of my pasted life experiences have prepared me to help others through difficult and trying times.

We invite you to worship with us at Woodard’s Pond Church of Christ where you will feel welcomed and only the word of our LORD is spoken.
